Chemring Countermeasures Invests £18.5M in New State of The Art Facilities

Chemring Countermeasures Ltd announced on the 26 March to its work force a significant investment in safety on its High Post site through the building of two new flare decoy manufacturing facilities. These state of the art facilities, costing £ 18.5 million, are automated to ensure that employees are kept at a safe distance from any potentially hazardous manufacturing processes. Unfortunately, through the automation approximately 134 jobs have been put at risk of redundancy. The company has initiated the consultation process and will be offering an enhanced redundancy and retention bonus package, providing individual support to at risk employees through a specialist outplacement company. This investment secures the future of the High Post site as a high integrity leading manufacturer of decoy countermeasures and providing a significantly enhanced working and safety environment with improved capability to support the UK Armed Forces in future peacekeeping operations.
