  • Am I Eligible?

  • Where is Chemring Countermeasures?

    Chemring Countermeasures is situated approximately 70 miles from London and mid way between Salisbury and Amesbury just off the A345.

    From London - From the M25 (London Orbital Motorway) leave at Junction 12 on to the M3 and after approximately 30 miles take the A303 turning at Junction 8, signposted Salisbury. Continue on the A303 until the first roundabout (approx 29 miles) take the A345 to Amesbury. Continue through Amesbury and continue with directions from Amesbury, shown below. Trains run from London Waterloo to Salisbury every 30 minutes.

    From Salisbury - Follow A345 out of Salisbury towards Amesbury. After approximately 6 miles you will come to a crossroads with a set of traffic lights (petrol station on your left, a golf course on your right). Turn left at the traffic lights immediately before the garage towards "The Woodfords". The Chemring Countermeasures site is situated 500 yds on the right hand side.

    From Amesbury - Follow A345 towards Salisbury. After approximately 5 miles you will come to a crossroads with a set of traffic lights (petrol station on your right, a golf course on your left). Turn right at the traffic lights immediately after the garage towards "The Woodfords". The Chemring Countermeasures site is situated 500 yds on the right hand side.

  • What training opportunities are there?

    We have a full and comprehensive training plan for all employees with appraisal and assessment schemes in place to monitor and identify skills gaps. We recognise, develop and nurture talent within the company through succession planning and our Talent Management Scheme.

    Training and Development is vital to enhancing and improving company performance at all levels of the company.

  • What promotion prospects will I have?

    Chemring recognises, identifies, develops and nurtures talent within the company.

    All vacancies are advertised within the company before looking further afield. Where possible, through succession planning and training we will promote internally as our first option when recruiting.

  • How do I apply?

  • What is the selection process?

    Managers assess all applications for suitable candidates who will then be invited for interview.

    Dependant on the position applied for the process could include some or all of the following:

    • Tour of the site/area of work;
    • Confirmation of eligibility to work in the UK;
    • Basic Numeracy & Literacy Tests;
    • A competency based interview.

    For management and senior positions a second interview may be required which could include:

    • A presentation;
    • Psychometric testing;
    • A technical interview.
    Full details will be given in prior to interview.

  • Do I need security clearance?

    Certain positions will require security clearance at varying levels. You will be notified if this is required.

  • What if there are no current vacancies?

    Please feel free to upload your CV here. We will hold it on file for 3 months. It is however important to check our website regularly and apply following the usual route if a suitable vacancy is identified.

  • Can I get a training or summer placement?

    We currently take Year in Industry (YINI) placements covering engineering, science, business, marketing and finance. This is a paid placement for students in their gap year prior or during their degree courses. For further information please go to www.yini.org.uk. We are happy to find placements if possible during summer holidays for our previous students.

    If temporary work is available we are always happy to employ students during their summer holidays, subject to eligibility.
