Chemring Countermeasures Ltd (CCM) is a leading manufacturer of energetic countermeasures and considers the management of Health and Safety to be of major importance to the commercial success of the business. Our main priority is to manufacture and develop all products to the highest level of safety and reliability. CCM is committed to, and accepts full responsibility for ensuring the health, safety and welfare of all of its employees and those persons affected by its activities. We will take all necessary actions, so far as is reasonably practicable, to fulfil this responsibility and put SAFETY FIRST in all we do.
We believe that all accidents and incidents are avoidable. Our goal is zero. Risks will be reduced so far as is reasonably practicable, targets will be set and displayed to demonstrate continual improvement of Health and Safety performance. We will comply with all statutory and legislative requirements.
The company will ensure that all processes and systems of work are designed and managed to take account of Health and Safety. All accidents, incidents and near misses will be investigated to establish root cause. The company will apply the aims and objectives laid out in the Chemring Group Health, Safety and Environment Policy and will promote effective cooperation and communication between group companies.
The company will ensure that there is full commitment at all levels and adequate resources will be made available to fulfil this policy. Every employee, visitor and contractor will be given sufficient information, instruction, training and supervision to enable them to work safely. Competent people will be appointed to effectively manage and maintain the Safety Management Systems. Arrangements and facilities will be provided to enable employees to raise Health and Safety issues to the management.
Managers and Supervisors are responsible for the implementation and enforcement of policies and procedures, provide leadership and promote best practice in safety management. All employees are empowered to take action where they consider unsafe practices or conditions exist.
I am committed to developing and maintaining a positive safety culture by ensuring every member of staff understands their obligations to take reasonable care of themselves and others who may be affected by their activities.
